Dataminr is excited to announce this year’s AI for Good partners: Insecurity Insight, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Ushahidi. After a rigorous selection process, these organizations were chosen to be part of our newly-launched AI for Good program.
Dataminr’s AI for Good program aims to support social good organizations that have a compelling use-case for cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This application-based, technical grant provides select organizations with tailored AI solutions to drive transformational impact for people and the planet.
Artificial Intelligence can help to identify trends and patterns in data, automate manual tasks, increase efficiency, and allocate resources effectively. Selected applicants have the opportunity to engage in an in-depth, three to nine month AI for Good collaboration where our team of AI researchers turns the proposed idea into a functional AI solution.
Previous AI for Good Projects
In 2022, Dataminr worked with United Nations Human Rights to develop an AI model to improve detection and classification of attacks on human rights defenders. Before working with Dataminr, UN Human Rights relied on painstaking, manual efforts to gather the necessary data to create accurate reports on such attacks. Leveraging the AI model to automate the process, UN Human Rights has improved detection of attacks by over 100-fold, shining a stronger light on the issue and hopefully, creating a safer space for human rights advocacy.
